Pablo Mayor

Pablo Mayor is a pianist, composer, and the Artistic Director of Folklore Urbano NYC, the musical production company he founded in 2000 to champion global music as a force for unity. A 2020 ArtsWestchester Artist Award recipient, Pablo is known for innovative compositions that blend contemporary Latin American sounds with deep cultural roots.

Originally from Cali, Colombia, he has created over one hundred works for iD Studio Theater, where he has been resident composer since 2016. His music has been performed by renowned artists and ensembles, including Arturo O’Farrill’s Grammy winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and Totó la Momposina. He is also the founder and long time producer of Encuentro NYC, the city’s leading Colombian music festival.

In addition to leading Folklore Urbano, Pablo performs with Los Pleneros de la 21 and previously spent more than fifteen years with Orquesta Broadway. His work continues to bridge cultures, uplift immigrant stories, and strengthen community through music.
