Germán Jaramillo
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Born in Colombia, he co-founded the Teatro Libre and its School of Acting, where he worked as resident actor, director and producer for almost 30 years. In August 2001 he moved to New York and founded ID Studio Theater Performance and Research Center, where as Artistic Director he has directed and produced 15 plays over the course of 17 years.
He has worked in over a dozen films, among them Our Lady of the Assassins by Barbet Schroeder (2000), for which he received the Gold Medal of the Senate in the Venice Film Festival. He works at Repertorio Español in New York City and he has been awarded the three most prestigious prizes in for Best Actor in Hispanic Theater in the USA: ACE, ATI, and HOLA.
Sandie Luna
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Sandie Luna is an Afro-Latine immigrant artist, educator, mother, doula, and cultural steward. As Executive Director of ID Studio Theater in the South Bronx, she leads with a commitment to artistic excellence, equity, and community partnerships, empowering immigrant communities through the performing arts.
She lectures in Theater Arts and Latin American & Caribbean Studies at SUNY New Paltz, where she champions inclusive teaching practices and uplifts BIPOC voices. A 2024 NALAC Leadership Institute Fellow and 2023 BRIO Award recipient, Sandie is also a co-founder of Nettles Artists Collective and Punto Space—an arts venue she helped launch in Midtown Manhattan to provide affordable, accessible space for emerging artists.
Her work spans international collaborations, site-specific installations, and social justice-driven performance. She lives, works, and dreams in the Bronx.
Lucía della Paolera
Director of Development and Special Projects
Lucia della Paolera was born in Brooklyn and lives and works in the South Bronx. In January 2015 she joined ID Studio Theater with her translation from Spanish to English of Máxima Seguridad (Maximum Security) by Piedad Bonnett.
At ID Studio, in addition to writing grants and leading in development, della Paolera has directed projects including the 2016-2017 Mott Haven Home Movies: South Bronx Cribs video workshop project, in collaboration with BronxArtSpace, and Cuarto Oscuro, a video and theater project made in collaboration with the Clemente Center as part of their HISTORIAS project, 2024. Outside of ID Studio she directs and sings in site-specific music performances with COTC NYC, and is set to begin practicing as a lawyer in immigration and criminal defense with the Bronx Defenders. Her translation of a book of conversations with Jorge Luis Borges is forthcoming with University of Minnesota of Press, 2026. della Paolera has a bachelor's degree in English and Music from the University of Pennsylvania (2010) and a juris doctorate from Yale Law School (2025).

Nelson Celis
VISITING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Nelson Celis holds a B.A. in Dramatic Arts from Universidad Central in Bogotá, Colombia. He joined Teatro Libre in 1998 as an actor and director, participating in over 25 productions for 14 years. Nelson taught at Teatro Libre's drama school and Universidad Central. He is the founder and Artistic Director of Compañía Nacional de las Artes. In 2015, he directed Maxima Seguridad at Theater for the New City and, in 2016, Arturo el Niño at ID Studio Theater in the Bronx. In 2018, he starred in El cielo y el dolor, earning an HOLA award.
Daniel Fetecua
RESIDENT CHOREOGRAPHER
Daniel Fetecua is the founder of Daniel Fetecua Productions, based at ID Studio Theater in NYC. The organization promotes dance through two companies: Pajarillo Pinta’o, which preserves Colombian traditional dance, and D-Moves, a contemporary project combining Colombian traditions, modern dance, and German TanzTheater.
Daniel is a master teacher of the Limon technique, a reconstructor of Limon’s repertory, and a faculty member of the Limon Institute. He has led educational projects such as Cumbia for Kids, DanSure/DanSouth, and the Amalgama Project. Daniel Fetecua Productions also produces the Latitudes Dance Festival, a platform for Latin American and Native dance companies.
PAblo Mayor
Musical Director
Pablo Mayor is a Colombian composer, pianist, and cultural leader who founded Folklore Urbano NYC in 2000 with a mission of #GlobalMusicToUnify. His work blends Latin American traditions with contemporary sound, bridging cultures through music.
Based in New York City, Pablo has composed over 100 pieces for ID Studio Theater productions, where he has been a resident artist since 2016. His acclaimed projects include El Barrio Project–SALSA and Unspoken Tales, a multidisciplinary piece inspired by immigrant stories.
Pablo’s music has been featured by Grammy-winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and Totó la Momposina, and is used in Berklee’s City Music education programs. He also founded the long-running Encuentro NYC Colombian music festival and performs with Los Pleneros de la 21 and Orquesta Broadway.
Anna Povich de Mayor
Lead Collaborator
Anna Povich de Mayor is a flutist, educator, and producer whose work bridges classical, Latin American, and jazz traditions. A core collaborator at ID Studio Theater and member of Folklore Urbano NYC, Anna has been a key player in countless performances, workshops, and residencies.
She is a co-creator of Cumbia for Kids, a hands-on residency program that brings Colombian music, dance, and culture to schools and community spaces—culminating in vibrant performances with students and live musicians. The program has been featured at ID Studio and throughout NYC.
Anna has performed Colombian music across the U.S. and internationally with Folklore Urbano NYC and regularly appears in Carnegie Hall’s Musical Connections and neighborhood concert series. She co-directs a music residency at PS/IS 217 on Roosevelt Island and teaches at Turtle Bay Music School.
Hersilia Restrepo
Associate Production Designer
Hersilia Restrepo is a designer and consultant who has collaborated with ID Studio Theater for over 15 years. Her work reflects a commitment to community-centered theater and collaborative creative processes. At ID Studio Theater, she has designed costumes and sets for productions such as Cumbia de mi Corazón, Pedro Infante: Cien Años Pienso en Ti, El Pesebre, and La Casa Grande. She also served as Head Designer for Unspoken Tales, part of the Sleepy Hollow Legend Bicentennial Festival supported by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
CAMILO VERGARA
RESIDENT PLAYWRIGHT
Colombian playwright. He was selected in the Foundations program of the IATI Theater in New York (2023) and awarded in the 27th International Radio Playwriting Competition of BBC Americas (2023). His work has been recognized with the National Award for Theatrical Playwriting from the Colombian Ministry of Culture (2020) and he was awarded the Ingmar Bergman Foundation Writing Residency on the island of Faro, Sweden (2019).
He has received the Premio Distrital de Cuento del Idartes (2016) and twice the Juegos Florales Hispanoamericanos de Guatemala (2016-2023). Among his most relevant theatrical works are: La última luz, premiered at the Charlot Theater in Bogota (2024); Petra, presented at the ID Studio Theater in New York (2025); and Puerto Soledad (2018).
