VAGABOND HOTEL

Set In a 1940s Harlem boarding house filled with immigrants chasing possibility, a false accusation upends the balance of power and relationships. As one man faces execution, the residents unite to uncover the real culprit—exposing injustice within the walls of the hotel and beyond.

Written by acclaimed Afro-Colombian intellectual Manuel Zapata Olivella and inspired by his time in 1940s New York, The Vagabond Hotel explores the myth of the United States as a “land of opportunity” through the hotel as a metaphor for society, where rooms become breeding grounds for tensions between cultures.
